Senior Architect

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, Data Centre Facilities, the Senior Architect is responsible for the design and/or alteration of new and existing Q9 premises. The Senior Architect represents Q9 Networks in external design and construction-related matters.

Responsibilities

• Develops solutions to meet architectural objectives, requirements, and budget of projects. Collaborates with internal users, consultants and project team to create and develop detailed technical drawings and specifications.
• Prepares required application(s), submittals, and presentations for planning and building departments.
• Prepares tender documents for contracts.
• Assists in the coordination of projects and performs construction administration responsibilities, including shop drawing review and document modifications.
• Assembles, produces and reviews documents and drawings for compliance with all applicable codes, ordinances, regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Prepares final code analysis for assigned projects.
• Conducts periodic on-site reviews of work during construction to ensure compliance with plans.
• Carries out special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have a valid license issued by the Ontario Association of Architects.
• 10+ years of experience in architecture, including experience in a supervisory management position.
• Demonstrated success in managing projects, including project tendering.
• Sound knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office Suite.
• Experience with BIM an asset.
• Ability to be licensed in Alberta and British Columbia.
