Canadian Automobile Association Calls On Q9
For Energy Efficient Data Centre Solution

Toronto, ON - January 5, 2010 - Q9 Networks Inc. (Q9) today announced that it has been selected by the Canadian Automobile Association South Central Ontario (CAA SCO) to provide a comprehensive data centre co-location solution. CAA SCO is the largest CAA organization in Canada and provides numerous mission-critical services to its 1.8 million members, including 7x24 emergency roadside assistance, travel services and home and auto insurance protection.

CAA SCO is consolidating its IT infrastructure from four data centres, two internal facilities and two external facilities, into a single Q9 data centre with failover infrastructure at a second Q9 facility. In addition to secure physical space, Q9 is providing CAA SCO with highly reliable electrical power, bandwidth and 7x24 monitoring to ensure the highest levels of performance and reliability for all of its business systems.

By co-locating with Q9, CAA SCO eliminates the complexity of managing multiple facilities and suppliers, reduces costs and is better able to manage its power consumption.

"Q9 sells its co-location services based on a power reservation model that gives us an incentive to understand and closely manage the power draw of our IT assets," says CAA SCO Chief Operating Officer, Jay Woo. "Q9's customer portal gives us the tools to do so by providing real-time insight into our power utilization. The model helps us reduce power usage and cost while upholding our commitment to energy efficiency as a socially responsible organization."

"There are hundreds, if not thousands, of inefficient internal data centres in organizations across Canada that can benefit from our power model," says Q9 Chief Executive Officer, Osama Arafat. "We have installed telemetry on the electrical circuits in our data centres, allowing each of our customers to know exactly how much power they are using. It's something we pioneered and we believe the benefits are enormous, not just for individual organizations but for industry as a whole. CAA SCO is one of an increasing number of leading organizations that understand the benefits of large, highly efficient data centres that provide transparency into their use of limited resources like power."

Q9 designs, builds and operates its data centres to meet the most demanding IT infrastructure requirements, including the increased power and cooling demands of today's high density computing devices.

Customers connect to the Internet via Q9's unique network and are protected by Q9's 100 per cent, SLA-backed uptime guarantees on both power and network availability. Customer equipment and data centre environmental parameters are monitored 7x24 by Q9's Control Centre, staffed by experts versed in all aspects of IT and facilities management.
